Islam, the faith which promotes peace and has strong ideology about equality is spreading at an unbelievable pace across this modern and materialistic world. A lot people of other faiths are converting to Islam after studying and observing the religions and the Muslims’ behaviours. It is today a reality which is known to the world that people are converting to Islam due to the beauty of the religion itself and its teachings.

As a matter of fact, Islam establishes not only peace and harmony but also rids mankind of tyranny and oppressions. The contemporary world presents in this respect no better view than it did fourteen hundred years ago, when Islam freed it from all false gods.

What are the sources of inspiration which lead to the conversion of Islam?

1. The religion of discipline and direction

The teachings of the Quran and the sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) play an important role in the decision making of converts. Most converts tend to study different religions and use comparison methodologies before choosing the best religion for them.

Many of the converts stated that they studied the books of other faiths and they concluded that holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) excel above all. Furthermore, through the study of Islam, the teachings of Islam are mainly based on direction; that is the best Islamic way of life on earth and the discipline to follow. Through those teachings, many people of faiths found that Islam is a religion where solace, peace and freedom can be found and lived.

2. The religion of mercy and forgiveness

The creed of Islam has established that Allah, the Nourisher of man is very merciful and forgiving. So, in other words, Islam encourages forgiveness and mercy towards each other which consequently beautify the religion itself and attract people towards this ideology. Islam clearly condemns violence, hatred and grudges. The teachings of Islam promote brotherhood, friendship, love, harmony and peace and therefore create a sense of perfect lifestyle.

3. The reward of Paradise

It is clearly mentioned in the holy Quran in many verses where Allah promises that he will reward the believers with Paradise which is a place of eternal blessings. On the other hand, Allah is clearly warning mankind that if they worship other gods and associates Him with other things, they will be therefore perished in the hellfire.

Therefore, converting to Islam is the best way to escape the eternal hellfire and punishments of Allah and the sufferings in the hereafter.

“And those who believe (in the oneness of God) and do righteous good deeds, to them We shall surely give lofty dwellings in Paradise, underneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Excellent is the reward of the workers”. (Quran 29: 58)

4. Simplicity , Rationalism and Practicalism

Islam in itself does not have scope in the beliefs of traditions. The teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah are simple. Its teachings are logical and comprehensible. Islam is not based on merely notions and unfounded beliefs.

Islam is strictly based from the commands of Allah directly to mankind and the commands are evidenced in the holy Quran where it is accessible for all mankind to refer to, study and implement. In fact, the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) make it even easier to understand the commands of Allah through the hadiths. Therefore, it is very clear that there are two best unbiased sources where people from other faiths can refer to find out about Islam and to enable them in convincing them about the authenticity of the religion of Islam.

Islam in itself has the power to arise in mankind the ability to reflect and analyse by using his intellect. It directs him to have an insight about things with a clear vision of reality.

Islam is a concrete religion and does not treat in biased and ineffective speculation. It states that belief is not a simply as matter of believing; it is the very main motive of life. The best behaviour and conduct must be practised as well as in the belief of the oneness of Allah. The Quran states:

“Those who believe and act righteously, joy is for them and a blissful home to return to”. (Quran: 13:29)

5. Unity of Matter and Spirit

Islam is a religion which encourages mankind to live well and happily in this life and to enjoy the material things as well within the limits of Allah’s commands and to be moderate at the same time.

Islam also encourages people to live well on this earth and also gives opportunities to the Muslims to prepare for an eternal life in the hereafter. In other words, Islam is a religion where mankind can establish their goals for the hereafter too by practising the religious itself and by behaving well and moderately with the intent of getting rewarded by Allah.

“Eat and drink, but do not exceed (the limits of moderation and decency)” (Quran: 7:31).

Conclusion

In a nutshell, we can summarise by saying that Islam itself is a religion of pure beauty, simple to follow, rewarding, disciplined and very prescriptive to the way of life on this earth.

In fact, all the existing challenges and difficulties of life have already been mentioned in the holy Quran with its solutions to mankind as Allah is the most Merciful.

The only expectation is for mankind to believe and practise in order to live respectfully and as a complete way of Islamic life. Thus, having this gift of Allah Himself, a lot of people of other faiths have realised how precious Islam is and they are converting to Islam for a better way of life.
